Karolyn Helda is the Global Services and Technical Services Director for QIMA’s Consumer Goods division in North America. With 35 years of experience in the consumer products safety, compliance, and quality assurance industry, she has extensive knowledge and direct experience across various product categories, including health and beauty care items, over-the-counter drugs, toys, children’s products, softlines, and general merchandise. Prior to her current role, Karolyn was responsible for the QIMA Buffalo lab operations and held various positions at independent consumer products testing laboratories, including management, business development, global compliance program development, technical consulting, training, and protocol development.
Dr. Santamaria is a board-certified toxicologist with over 35 years of multidisciplinary consulting experience critically evaluating a broad range of toxicological, epidemiological, and clinical studies, conducting exposure and human health risk assessments, and communicating results to clients and governmental agencies. Dr. Santamaria has been partnering with QIMA to provide Toxicological Risk Assessments on a wide variety of consumer products, expert consulting on consumer product related topics such as California Proposition 65, and consultation and support to cosmetic companies to help ensure they remain compliant with the evolving requirements of the U.S. Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA).
